 The musical Legacy of "Curacao Chopin: Wim Statius Muller Central Artist: Wim Statius Muller Description:   Born in 1930, Wim Statius Muller was a CuraƧaoan pianist and composer who is renowned for his contributions to "Antillean Classical Music." He was frequently referred to as the "Chopin of the Caribbean" because of his proficiency in "Danzas antillanas," which is a genre of rhythmic and graceful piano pieces that resemble European waltzes but contain Caribbean flavor. While  attending the Royal Conservatory of The Hague where he studied music, he also worked as a cryptanalyst for NATO.  Despite his career in intelligence, he continued to be devoted to music, writing and performing works that captured CuraƧao's rich cultural legacy.
