Each member departed from their home and aimed for America after realizing that the situation in their native country Haiti, was uncertain and problematic. They met up later again in New York. Additionally, they are renowned for being among the first digital bands of the younger generation to released music that addressed Haiti's increasing and political circumstances. In regard to music, this group also used Neymour's compas rhythms in their music. They echo Neymour's originality in the genre by combining contemporary sounds with classic compas. Below is one of their songs titled "I'll Yayed" (Pretty Bumpy) which incorporates the compas rhythm and also has a catchy and energetic tune.
Les Frères Déjean
Les Frères Déjean is a Kompas music band that formed in 1963 by Lyonel Déjean. Like many other bands, this group was greatly influenced by Neymour's innovative approach to compas music. While contributing their own unique flavor to the genre, they also played an important role in carrying on the compas tradition.
